Despair

We found out today that we are losing our principal. This is...shocking, and unpleasant. I don't understand exactly what happened, but 7 of the schools in the city had to come up with "alternative governance plans," which they did, but which got rejected. The city then chose one for them, and our school only ended up having our principal kicked out and a new one instated for the upcoming school year. The new principal is with New Visions for New Schools, the principal equivalent of Teach for America. I don't even know what to do with this news yet...it basically means that we four TFAers at 430 will be about the only staff members that stay for next year, and thus we will hopefully be a large part of the decision making process. I cannot even fathom what next year is going to look like with this and the school building issues. It is making this year seem like the end of paradise...large sigh of fear and excitement. Any sympathy would be cool right now.
